Jails and Bricks

"FOR MY PAIN…, the Finnish "goth metal" supergroup featuring Tuomas Holopainen (NIGHTWISH) on keyboards, Altti Veteläinen (ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW) on bass, Lauri Tuohimaa (EMBRAZE) on guitar, Olli-Pekka Törrö (ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW) on guitar, Juha Kylmänen (REFLEXION) on vocals, and Petri Sankala (ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW) on drums, will have its 2003 debut album, "Fallen", released in the U.K. via Spinefarm Records. In addition to the 10 tracks featured on the original release, "Fallen" — mixed by Mikko Karmila, a man who has shaped the sound of Finland's foremost rock acts — will come with the U.K.-only bonus track "Killing Romance", a chart single in Finland back in 2004."

I cannot help but smile and giggle a little at this, only because of my first comic, Dear Carniwhore (which, I'll remind you, was inspired by the FMP song of the same title). Hopefully this also means the project is not dead, and there could be a follow up.... =D


On another note, the other day I was thinking about random stuff and I came up with an interesting definition.

To brick someone: verb. To radically express your disagreement in a "constructive" way.

I think I'll try to think of more definitions like that XD

Sketch I did back in 2006 for Pinkass's birthday. It looks like like I'm handing over Jussi69, just like that, but it was really just a loan for the day.

The idea of the bow was very simple: if he didn't like it, he could always take it off.

I used the same idea in a drawing for Jen, but this time with Tuomas =)

Situation: A little wordplay of a very tired Laury. I've heard (read) that Jussi69's last name is Vuori, which means "mountain". Aaah, you see it now, huh? Nightwish's Emppu got "Vuorinen" as a family name, so yeah.
Brokeback Vuorinen. Yeah, Jussi is kinda wondering "What the hell went through her f*cked up head" and he's too dressed. I know, I know.
No needs'a reference, right?

Wicking

Situation: Marco Hietala (Nightwish/Tarot/Sinergy's bassit/vocalist) looks like a Vicking, there's not denying it. But how about when he was a kid?This is way overdue, I drew this in... July?

Situation: after terrible horrors concerning caps - we'll spare you the details - we decided that prevention was best first started by education. So, we set up classes for our 3 Finns-at-risk, Janne Selo, Tuomas Holopainen and Jussi 69.
(note that Janne is shaved, to respect the League's rule, and that Tuomas is not, since his facial hair is still aethetic)
And you can take the "wear *absolutely* nothing" reference in any you're pleased to, but remember, he is in MY closet :P

SISUWUBAF - 4/?

Situation: discussing the League's matters, we stumbled acroos Tuomas's very special case. Although we'd never want to cut his hair SHORT, when too loong, it does NOT look good. He's also one of the few Finns that wear a beard nicely. Fortunately, we stated that we only have to remove non-aesthetic facial hair. We'll have to make a twist for his hair, though...

Ballet: rock on!

Situation: O dear Pastlink, adept of stupid -no hard feeling hun- nicknames for the artists we love! Tuomas has been kindly renamed "Tutu", and thus we saw a curious link get forged between him and Perttu, who demonstrated a lot of dignity in front of his fans. See, there's been a fanfic written, about him getting into a PINK! tutu (I haven't read it myself, but I'm sure it was f*cking twisted). Now, the fans had the good idea, as all fanfics writers, to get him a copy of the said fiction, along with an home-made PINK! tutu sewed with love. It was really just a "package gift" because no one really expected him to do what he did, but with a defying, "How rock'n'roll can you get?", he put the tutu on.
Lovely man.
So, yeah, that's Tutu and Perttutu, the classical ballet dancers. ^_^

Long Lost Twins

Situation: This was Pastlink idea: she finds that Nightwish's Emppu and Uniklubi's Pasi look very alike. So, maybe they're long lost bros??? Who knows, with all the links there is all through the musical scene in Finland, it is just another scenario that could well be true. In this drawing, it was hard to even make them look alike - I mean, they're comics... - so I just imagined as if they were identical, and met for the first time. ^_^

Situation: a video (amateur) was found on the web, showing four Finns (undoubtably) dancing naked around a little, undecorated Christmas tree outdoors, chanting happily in the dark. Now, they do look like Nightwish's members Tuomas Holopainen, Marco Hietala, Erno Vuorinen and Jukka Nevalainen. The end of the video *does* show a "Best Christmas Wishes from Nightwish", but that could still not be genuine. We've had fun watching it though. ^_^
